| The current population that desperately needs our assistance are the people of Afghanistan. For over 25 years, the Afghans have been exposed to warfare, economic sanctions, inflation, and harsh environmental conditions such as droughts, severe winters, and earthquakes. The latest estimates indicate approximately twelve million uprooted Afghans are dispersed throughout the globe including the six bordering countries which are China, Iran, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. |

| Recently, the Afghans have been the victims of a severe drought and subsequent famine. The refugees that are physically able to flee the country face a perilous journey lasting an average of fifteen days to cross the Afghan border. To add to their misery, the life-threatening hike includes some of the most treacherous mountain terrain in the world. The women, children, and elderly are usually too weak and malnourished to survive the journey and tend to not reach their destination. Those who do complete the voyage are then forced to pay hefty bribes to cross into safety or turned back.
Most Afghan refugees are typically forced back across the border or are not granted refugee status. Unrecognized by the host country, these people are not eligible to receive any form of food, shelter, clothing, healthcare, education, or technical training. Those who remain are enclosed in camp sites where they are forced to share old tents with two or three other families.
Through your donations, we are able to provide the basic living necessities for these displaced people. Please browse our website for information on how you can help contribute to this worthy and tax-deductible cause.
